Prior to entering the sales field time 29 years ago, I worked in the administrative departments of three major real estate offices. The real estate industry is so vast in nature, from the receptionist at the front desk, to the salespeople in the field! My years in the office provided me great knowledge of the inner workings of the industry; the paperwork, the contracts, speaking with the public, and a host of many other important things. When I stepped out into sales, it was a scary time for me. I left the security of a guaranteed pay cheque and regular hours, for commission-only income and unpredictable hours.
It was the best thing I could have done.
I’ve weathered many market conditions and am fortunate to have enjoyed a very successful career in real estate. The industry has been very good to me. And I love what I do.
Throughout the years, I’ve not only been active in the resale market, I’ve been fortunate to have worked on several new home sites. There was an enclave of single-family homes, as well as a 20 unit townhome development on Hamilton’s central mountain. I then moved on the “Twenty Place”, an adult lifestyle community of 645 townhouse and apartment units, complete with residents’ clubhouse. Following that, I started and finished “Garth Trails”, another adult lifestyle community of 444 townhome units, again with resident’s clubhouse. I loved Garth Trails so much, I bought a home of my own here. Garth Trails has been my home since October 2012.
For my work in Twenty Place and Garth Trails, I received several Awards of Merit, as well as Salesperson of the year (for Twenty Place), and was one of the winning members of the Sales Team of the Year for Garth Trails, all awarded by the Hamilton-Halton Home Builders’ Association.
